Class Descriptions
Music, Movement, and Munch
(recommended for children 2-6 years of age)
Music, Movement, and Munch is a social-sensory class designed for children 2–6 years of age. The focus of this class is on stimulating the sensory system in multiple ways, with the goal of promoting verbal and social skills in a small and safe environment,  developing visual motor skills, improving motor planning skills, increasing  kinesthetic skills, improving gross motor coordination, increasing fine motor skills, promoting good eating habits through peer observation, and most importantly having fun!
“Music, Movement, and Munch” was developed by a Pediatric Occupational Therapist with 15 years of experience working with children with a multitude of different diagnoses. This class is designed to benefit children with mild to moderate Autism, Asperger’s, PDD, Sensory Processing/Integration Disorder, Developmental Delays, mild to severe Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome, Visual Processing Impairments, Auditory Processing Issues, Social Awkwardness, Physical Disabilities and Food Aversions.

Crafty Kids

(recommended for children 4-9 years of age)
Crafty Kids is a Social Group for children 4 – 9 years old, designed to improve fine motor skills, problem solving skills, visual perceptual skills, visual motor skills, strengthen the muscles of the hand, and facilitate age appropriate social skills.
Crafty Kids is appropriate for children with Sensory Integration/Processing Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Learning Disabilities, Developmental Delays, Physical Disabilities, Cognitive Delays, Visual Perceptual Issues, Visual Motor Delays, Decreased Self-Esteem, Shyness, Social Awkwardness, Asperger’s, Pervasive Developmental Delay, as well as all kids who love making things with their hands and having something cool to take home after!
Yoga Kids
(recommended for children 4-12 years of age)
Yoga Kids is a yoga program designed for children 4-12 years of age with special needs.  The Yoga Kids class consists of breathing techniques, self-regulation exercises, and physical challenges, all specifically chosen to improve concentration, decrease hyperactivity, improve body awareness and balance, increase muscle strength and flexibility, and boost self-esteem. 
Yoga Kids is designed to benefit children who have Down Syndrome, mild Cerebral Palsy, Hemiparesis, Hypotonia, Decreased Balance, Decreased Kinesthetic Awareness, Learning Disabilities, ADD, ADHD, mild Autism, Asperger’s, PDD, Sensory Processing/Integration Disorder, Developmental Delays, Visual Processing Impairments, and Decreased Self-Esteem.
 
Game Night
(recommended for children 7-14 years of age)
Game Night is a social group for children ages 7-14 designed to increase comfort in social situations, facilitate appropriate social responses with peers, teach good sportsmanship, improve cognitive skills and promote age-appropriate communication skills. 
Game Night is appropriate for children ages 7-14 with speech and language delays, shyness, developmental delays, physical disabilities, Asperger’s, Pervasive Developmental Delays, social awkwardness, and anyone who just wants to have some fun and make new friends!
   
Tae Kwon Do - Karate
(recommended for children 4-10 years of age)
Tae Kwon Do at My Left Foot Children’s Therapy is a Karate program developed by Karen Miller, Black Belt and Owner of FAMILY KARATE, designed for children 4-12 years of age with and without special needs.  This Karate class consists of fun and imaginative games and exercises to help children develop the skills necessary to perform basic Tae Kwon Do techniques.  The goals of this class are to improve listening skills, attention-to-task, discipline, self-control, balance, body awareness, visual motor skills, muscle strength, flexibility, and self-esteem. 
Tae Kwon Do at My Left Foot Children’s Therapy is designed to benefit children who have ADD, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Asperger’s, PDD, Sensory Processing/Integration Disorder, Developmental Delays, Visual Processing Delays, Hemiparesis, Hypotonia, mild Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Decreased Balance, Decreased Kinesthetic Awareness, Decreased Self-Confidence, and Decreased Self-Esteem.
