Santa’s Little Elves

This year, as we have done for the past several years, we will be buying, and
anonymously delivering, Christmas presents for MLF families in need. These
famlies will not know who the presents have come from; the return address will
only say, “Santa’s Little Elves.” As always, we ask that you put some thought as
to whether or not you have come into contact with families at MLF, who are
struggling and will not be able to give their children the magical Christmas that
all children should have. If you know of a family in need, please collect all of the
information regarding that family (names and ages of all children in the family,
any disabilities one or more of the children may have that would impact what
developmental level of toys that a child, or children, will enjoy, toy suggestions
for specific children, and lastly, you must make sure that we have the famliy’s
current address). Please email the information, along with any supporting facts
as to why you think the family could use some help this Christmas, to
SantasLittleElves@mlfchildrenstherapy.com. We can only consider families who
we receive all of the information for, by December 11th.

More than 10,000 supporters attended the events across the country, 456 in Las Vegas, and they raised approximately $900,000! We were proud to be a part of such a great event! is celebrating the American Speech and Hearing Association’s
“Better Speech and Hearing Month,” this May!

My Left Foot Children’s Therapy is hosting a Bottle Exchange Campaign to get babies and young children, 6 months and older, to transition from bottles to more age-appropriate drinking methods, including open cups and straw-cups.

Please join us in celebrating Better Speech and Hearing month!
Bring in one of your baby’s bottles from May 1st – May 31st,
and My Left Foot Children’s Therapy will exchange it for a
new therapist-approved cup for your baby!

Did you know?

  1. Babies should be introduced to drinking from an open cup between 4 and 6 months of age! (Morris & Klein).
  2. Beginning cup drinking by 6 months of age, sets the stage for your baby’s jaw stability and development for mature drinking and eating patterns.
  3. By introducing liquids (water, breast milk, formula, juice) in varied presentations (open cups, straws, and spoons), it makes it easier to transition your baby off of the bottle when it is time.
  4. Your baby should be weaned off of the bottle by the age of 1 year. Breast feeding can/should continue, but with liquids presented via cup in addition to breast feedings.
